Bacchella, Ecobeton and Quin: Restoring Old Farmhouses on Elba

A photographer-led renovation project bringing new life to rustic buildings - with Microbond, Ercole and Ecobeton sealers

For a couple of years Ecobeton has been working with the studio Adriano Bacchella Image & Photography on the renovation of old rustic houses and farmhouses on the beautiful island of Elba - specifically Casa Melagrana and Casa dei Gatti at Seccheto.

The studio's project is as ambitious as it is simple: give old local buildings new architectural and commercial life while keeping and enhancing their rustic character and sense of place. It achieves this by working with respected suppliers of design furniture and high-quality building materials - among them Microbond, Ercole and the Ecobeton sealers.

Once the works are complete, the rooms furnished and the finishes dry, Adriano Bacchella brings his artistic and professional skill to bear with high-level photo shoots of the newly restored buildings, published in editorials, blogs and specialist magazines such as Quin - Quaderno di Interni.

Many of these projects are then offered to the world as holiday homes - idyllic places to retreat for a few days.

Seamless microcement over old stone and tile is exactly the kind of renovation UK designers are asking for; see our microcement gallery.
